Every year, the Bournemouth University students get together in what is sure to be the biggest blow out before summer! Thousands of students assemble, all dressed in crazy fancy dress, ready for an evening of live bands and high jinks! Hosting some huge names in the music industry such as Ms Dynamite, Tinchy Stryder, Pendulum, Chase & Status and Scouting For Girls, the student Summer Ball is always a huge party, getting everyone on their feet and dancing! With a line up of some top class musicians including FEEDER, NETSKY, AND TODDLA T at 2012’s Summer Ball, it is sure to be a night to remember, and we can add to the event with our memorable costumes! The only thing that is holding you back on this party is your imagination, and with stock like ours, we are sure we can help you with any crazy idea you come up with! As I’m sure you can imagine, we’ve seen a lot of crazy stuff here at Hollywood, so let your imagination run wild for this party, and be as unique as possible! Is there a group of you? Hollywood Fancy Dress are pleased to announce an exciting new business venture! We’re adding to our fabulous fancy dress fleet and we want you to be with us every step of the way!
With 30 years of fancy dress expertise under our belt, we strive to deliver not only fantastic customer service, but the newest and most exciting costumes straight off the production line from the world’s leading fancy dress suppliers. Our mother shop in Castle Lane West gave us the grounding to, 2 years ago, open a sister shop in the heart of the party town, Bournemouth. Success has been on our side, attracting a university based clientele, allowing us to work alongside nightclubs and the Bournemouth Student Union to add a fancy dress flare to their events and club nights.
Seeing a fancy dress store in jeopardy pulls on our heart strings, and we feel like we need to help in every way we can. In this instance, we heard of their plight when Lenny’s cousin, Colin the Crab, who lives in Southampton and is a frequent visitor to their fancy dress shop, noticed a closing down sale in the local store. After speaking to the manager, Gillian, he heard the tragic story and rang Lenny on his shell phone to break the news.
Obviously, it is a big step to open a third store, but Hollywood are always up for a challenge and have faith that the lovely people of Southampton will come out and show their support!

As you probably know, the staff here at Hollywood are extremely passionate about fancy dress. We heard of a fellow fancy dress store in trouble, struggling to keep its doors open and its staff employed. Knowing what a party loving town like Southampton is, we couldn’t deprive them the joy of a fancy dress store. At Hollywood, we value our staff and were saddened and distressed when we heard that so many fun, valuable fancy dress enthusiasts were going to be out of a job in this hard economic climate. That’s why we made it our duty as the largest fancy dress company on the south coast of England to fly in and rescue this desperate store and its brilliant staff in their time of need.
Lenny the Lobster and his team of decorators are revamping this dilapidated yet legendary Southampton outlet. A full Hollywood makeover will be given, turning the already renowned fancy dress extravaganza into a store that will have heads turning and jaws dropping all over Southampton. It’ll be like nothing you’ve seen before!
The store, soon to be open, will be stocked to the brim with the highest quality fancy dress costumes and accessories known to man! Every costume you can think of, from Batman to the Ugly Sisters, Katy Perry to a GIANT Carrot, we have a costume for every occasion and to suit every taste. We will also have a massive selection of party ware, including balloons, banners, streamers and much much more!

Congratulations to the Oscar winning Muppets!

So yesterday marked the 84th Academy Award Ceremony and we here at the Hollywood Fancy Dress Shop are especially excited about one award that was given out. 32 years since the original Muppet Movie, the Muppet’s returned in 2011, strong as ever, to deliver a film full of songs and smiles to the world. A classic group of puppet characters, originating in the 50s return after a long break with the threat of the Muppet’s Theatre being knocked down to try and raise the money to keep it. This enjoyable film includes songs that will get you up on your feet and songs that will bring a tear to your eye. To our full agreement, the Muppet’s turned up last night to accept an Oscar for best original song. Over 30 years since their first nomination, the Muppet’s were able to rightfully take home an Oscar for their performance. We love the Muppet’s here at Hollywood (I mean, who wouldn’t love a bunch of puppets singing about the joys of life?), and we are overjoyed at their success at the Oscars.
