35th Year Of Star Wars Fun!

It wasn’t until Lenny popped on his Darth Maul outfit and started knocking over all of our new stock in the stockroom with his double bladed lightsaber that all the staff here at Hollywood got talking about Star Wars! All of us here love Star Wars. I mean, what isn’t there to love about a space war where everybody fights with laser swords and guns, and flies around in spaceships? Grossing nearly $5 billion, the Star Wars sixology has taken over the world with phrases like “May the Force be with you” and Darth Vader’s heavy breathing. Even if you are unfamiliar with the films, characters like Obi Wan Kenobi, Jabba the Hut, Darth Vader and a Storm Trooper are all widely used in all warps of media, following the Star Wars franchise and they are all recognisable! We all have our favourite characters here at Hollywood, ranging from the master of lightsaber combat Darth Maul, to the smuggler Han Solo, and we have costumes and masks to make you your favourite character for your Star Wars party! 35 years since the first movie “Episode IV: A New Hope”, Star Wars has dominated when it comes to successful and classic film series. Every year, the Bournemouth University students get together in what is sure to be the biggest blow out before summer! Thousands of students assemble, all dressed in crazy fancy dress, ready for an evening of live bands and high jinks! Hosting some huge names in the music industry such as Ms Dynamite, Tinchy Stryder, Pendulum, Chase & Status and Scouting For Girls, the student Summer Ball is always a huge party, getting everyone on their feet and dancing! With a line up of some top class musicians including FEEDER, NETSKY, AND TODDLA T at 2012’s Summer Ball, it is sure to be a night to remember, and we can add to the event with our memorable costumes!
