It’s less than a month away, opening its doors to Bournemouth students and providing some of the best variety of music, along with some cracking entertainment to make your night a memorable one. Grand Opening of Hollywood ‘just for fun’ Southampton Good Friday 6th April

A new fancy dress store is set to open at the beginning of next month which is to aid disappointment after the popular ‘Just For Fun’ store closed its doors earlier this year.

Hollywood, being the biggest fancy dress shop on the south coast of England, has saved the jobs of many at the old fancy dress store in Southampton ‘Just For Fun’ and is revamping it to be bigger and better with a more modern and youthful atmosphere to attract young and old alike.

The new store, called Hollywood ‘Just For Fun,’ will be located at the former ‘Just for Fun’ site at
31 – 37 Queensway, Southampton SO14 3BL. The vibrant new store will bring fun and colour to the area with its new eye catching signage which brightens up Queensway.

Hollywood Fancy Dress already have two stores in Bournemouth attracting a huge and diverse clientale and are excited to open up a third. Hollywood offer good value for money, a huge selection of fancy dress costumes, costume accessories, balloons, wigs, face paint, masks and so much more . A new sexy ladies Fever Boutique is to be fitted at the new Southampton shop offering the ladies a private selection of saucy costumes.

Hollywood Balloon Arcade is another important part of the party shop offering a balloon decoration service which will be in operation shortly when all staff have been fully trained with a service second to none.
We offer a huge selection of foil and latex balloons for all occasions including balloon bouquets and clusters, single foils, table decorations plus so much more.

Sam Kerr, already a strong Hollywood team member is to be manager of the new Southampton store, said: “Our target audience is huge and with Southampton being a big city with a huge party atmosphere, we are sure that the store will be supported by everyone.”

The Parade starts at Hollywood ‘just for fun’ on 31-37 Queensway Southampton and continues through the heart of Southampton town centre.

The World Turns Green For St. Patricks Day!

St. Patricks Day is a day that has been celebrated for years, and it is a day where everybody is Irish! Here at Hollywood Fancy Dress, some of the staff have been sporting green wear for the run up to the fantastic Irish celebration, and we’ve stocked in some fantastic stuff for St. Patricks Day! The world is gearing up for the celebration, and landmarks around the globe are “turning green” for the day. Huge landmarks such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Niagara Falls, the Empire state Building and the London Eye are turning green and the entire town of Moraira on the Costa Blanca in Spain is turning green too! Tomorrow, the world will be turned green, and we think you should join in! It’s obvious that the biggest countries and cities around the world are celebrating the saint, so why not join in and come grab something green to wear on the big day tomorrow! A green hat, green tights, a fabulous “Kiss Me, I’m Irish!” tie, some glasses or a wig, it doesn’t matter! We have tons of stuff that’s green for the day, so why not come and grab something and celebrate with everyone else?! We love St. Patricks Day here at Hollywood, and we wouldn’t want you to miss out on an event that is rocking the world, so we have a load of stuff waiting for you here! Hollywood Fancy Dress are pleased to announce an exciting new business venture! We’re adding to our fabulous fancy dress fleet and we want you to be with us every step of the way!
With 30 years of fancy dress expertise under our belt, we strive to deliver not only fantastic customer service, but the newest and most exciting costumes straight off the production line from the world’s leading fancy dress suppliers. Our mother shop in Castle Lane West gave us the grounding to, 2 years ago, open a sister shop in the heart of the party town, Bournemouth. Success has been on our side, attracting a university based clientele, allowing us to work alongside nightclubs and the Bournemouth Student Union to add a fancy dress flare to their events and club nights.
Seeing a fancy dress store in jeopardy pulls on our heart strings, and we feel like we need to help in every way we can. In this instance, we heard of their plight when Lenny’s cousin, Colin the Crab, who lives in Southampton and is a frequent visitor to their fancy dress shop, noticed a closing down sale in the local store. After speaking to the manager, Gillian, he heard the tragic story and rang Lenny on his shell phone to break the news.
Obviously, it is a big step to open a third store, but Hollywood are always up for a challenge and have faith that the lovely people of Southampton will come out and show their support!

Fancy Dress for Sports Relief – Training with Lenny the Lobster

The Hollywood Fancy Dress staff always like to get stuck in to anything related to charity and having fun! Sports Relief was right up our street and our mascot, Lenny the Lobster, was the first on the scene as he trained himself up for Sports Relief. Quickly followed by his best mate Zippy from Rainbow, who made a special appearance for the day, and the 188 man, who never needs an excuse to work out, Lenny and the crew went for a run! Check out what they got up to, including meeting some lovely builders and the Field and Trek staff.
